Porque el poder del Evangelio no solo consuela a los perseguidos—también puede transformar a los perseguidores. Saulo era enemigo de la Iglesia… hasta que se encontró con Jesús. Oramos para que el mismo amor que sostuvo a los mártires, alcance a los que los odian. Este clamor es por conversiones radicales, por misericordia que vence al odio, y por una Iglesia que ora incluso por sus enemigos.
No solo oramos por los perseguidos, sino también por sus perseguidores. Que el amor de Cristo atraviese sus corazones endurecidos y los lleve al arrepentimiento. Así como transformaste a Saulo, transforma hoy a los que odian Tu Nombre. Que la sangre que derraman se convierta en el testimonio que los persigue hasta hallar gracia. Jesús, vence el odio con Tu misericordia y haz de los enemigos, hermanos.
Hechos 9:1-6
'Mientras tanto, Saulo, respirando aún amenazas de muerte contra los discípulos del Señor, se presentó al sumo sacerdote y le pidió cartas de extradición para las sinagogas de Damasco. Tenía la intención de encontrar y llevarse presos a Jerusalén a todos los que pertenecieran al Camino, fueran hombres o mujeres. En el viaje sucedió que, al acercarse a Damasco, una luz del cielo relampagueó de repente a su alrededor. Él cayó al suelo y oyó una voz que le decía: —Saulo, Saulo, ¿por qué me persigues? —¿Quién eres, Señor? —preguntó. —Yo soy Jesús, a quien tú persigues —contestó la voz—. Levántate y entra en la ciudad, que allí se te dirá lo que tienes que hacer. '
1 Timoteo 1:13-17
'Anteriormente, yo era un blasfemo, un perseguidor y un insolente; pero Dios tuvo misericordia de mí porque yo era un incrédulo y actuaba con ignorancia. Ciertamente la gracia de nuestro Señor se derramó sobre mí con abundancia, junto con la fe y el amor que hay en Cristo Jesús. Este mensaje es digno de crédito y merece ser aceptado por todos: que Cristo Jesús vino al mundo a salvar a los pecadores, de los cuales yo soy el primero. Pero precisamente por eso Dios fue misericordioso conmigo, a fin de que en mí, el peor de los pecadores, pudiera Cristo Jesús mostrar su paciencia infinita. Así llego a servir de ejemplo para los que, creyendo en él, recibirán la vida eterna. Por tanto, al Rey eterno, inmortal, invisible, al único Dios, sea honor y gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Ezequiel 36:25-27
'Los rociaré con agua pura, y quedarán purificados. Los limpiaré de todas sus impurezas e idolatrías. Les daré un nuevo corazón y derramaré un espíritu nuevo entre ustedes; quitaré ese corazón de piedra que ahora tienen y les pondré un corazón de carne. Infundiré mi Espíritu en ustedes y haré que sigan mis estatutos y obedezcan mis leyes. '
Because the power of the Gospel doesn’t just comfort the persecuted—it can transform the persecutors too. Saul was an enemy of the Church… until he encountered Jesus. We pray that the same love that sustained the martyrs would reach those who hate them. This cry is for radical conversions, for mercy that overcomes hatred, and for a Church that prays even for its enemies.
We don’t only pray for the persecuted, but also for their persecutors. May the love of Christ pierce their hardened hearts and lead them to repentance. Just as You transformed Saul, transform those who hate Your Name today. Let the blood they shed become the testimony that follows them until they find grace. Jesus, overcome hatred with mercy and turn enemies into brothers.
Acts 9:1-6
'Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” '
1 Timothy 1:13-17
'Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. '
Ezekiel 36:25-27
